New stylishly rustic beach bistro just behind the sand dunes.
Høfde 4 is a brand new bistro style restaurant in Denmarks most popular sea-side resort Blåvand. Just behind the lyme grass covered sand-dunes and the pristine white sandy beach on the Danish North Sea Coast. The restaurant is named after the breakwater (høfde) 4 that breaks the waves of the North Sea a few steps from the restaurant. Høfde 4 offers a relaxed and stylish Nordic atmosphere. The black painted wooden building with thatched roof suits the landscape and the surrounding new beach villas and Strandhotel (Beach Hotel) of the Hvidbjerg Strand Holiday Park, which incidentally offers one of Denmarks best spa and wellness facilities.
The North Sea at Breakwater 4 at Hvidbjerg Beach is popular with kite surfers
Inside the restaurant has a relaxing rustic coastal feel with high-quality hand made yellow overburned brick floors. The dining tables are made of recycled rail way sleepers. The black painted oak dining chairs J80 are designed by Jørgen Bækmark in the 1950s and produced by Kvist The combination of the wooden frame and the woven wicker seat provides a unique seat that moulds when you sit the chair. The turned oak sticks, steam-bent back and hand-woven seats make this chair a classic icon. J80 is a very comfortable chair, with an extremely refined alignment. In the centre of the restaurant is a copper clad open fireplace for cold and rainy day comfort.
In the kitchen, the young talented chef head Kristian Kreilgaard Corell innovatively and caringly interprets French and Nordic cooking. The emphasis throughout is on top quality seasonal ingredients and a fresh and uncomplicated approach.
